Oxygen Jungle Villas & Spa

Oxygen Jungle exceeded expectations. Even with all the 5 star reviews! The staff is stellar. Shout out to Fyil, Hazel, Valerie, Imar and Moa . I’m sure I’ve misspelled all the names, hopefully you know who you are! Breakfast was wonderful, great cocktails. I had tried for an Ocean View room but none were available. We ended up in a Jungle Spa Room, 11, and I’m so happy we did! Very private and quiet. I’d book 11 or 12 on our next stay. Thanks to all for a great time. Miss you already!

*We have only travelled out of the country one other time and we stayed on the resort the whole then* The Oxygen Jungle Villas is like a dream. It is surreal. The drive up the mountain was not as bad as people say. If you have been off roaring in any capacity, it’s a piece of cake. Everyone staying at Oxygen Jungle was driving a small SUV with AWD (not 4x4). It’s a rocky dirt road with some bumps. You show up to the villas and it’s quiet and soothing. You don’t really see the villas from the parking lot. We were met by an employee who took our bags to the front desk. The view as soon as you walk through the “door” is breathtaking. The employee at the front desk was incredibly nice and professional. She walked us through all of the amenities and walked us to our room. The room was a game changer. Like, something you see on movies. We’re more like Holiday Inn people, so this was a different world for us. But wow. The view, the jungle sounds, the room. All amazing. The only little thing was that the shower was up and down with the temp. But whatever. It’s paradise. I don’t know if we enjoyed our stay the way most people do. We signed up for as much as we could. We singed up for the a day tour of Corcovado State Park with Pacific Expeditions (set up through the Hotel). It was awesome. Plain and simple. The hotel had pre-ordered breakfast waiting for us in the morning. The drive was short. But the tour. The tour was an hour boat ride to the park. We saw a group of dolphins. We got to the park and everything was well explained and we were on our way. Our Guide, Greivy, was the absolute best. He’s funny, he makes you feel comfortable, safe, and above all he is responsible. He truly cared about the environment, the country, the animals. All of it. He made sure we enjoyed our experience but also that we were educated. We were incredibly lucky to see a Puma, a Tapir, an Anteater, a monkey , a crocodile and a few others. We had lunch at the park, went swimming in the water fall and saw HUMPBACK WHALES on the way back. Couldn’t have asked for a better day. It was so great we signed up for the night tour that’s actually at Oxygen Jungle. Yes, the hotel is in such an amazing place that tours are held there. The night tour was with the same guide, Greivy, and his wife who is also a certified guide. They were again, incredibly knowledgeable and made the hike fun. We saw a lot of what you would expect to see in a jungle at night. Spiders, snakes, and a sleeping hummingbird? It was straight up amazing. You 100% have to take the tours if you have a chance. We then went to the room, cleaned up, and went to dinner. Not only has Oxygen Jungle figured out the perfect location, but they also hired the perfect staff. My husband and I just returned from Costa Rica and before going I was searching for the most unique place to stay. I did not want to stay at a typical resort and I thought if I was going to Costa Rica I wanted to feel like I was in the jungle. Well I found heaven on earth when I stumbled across Oxygen Jungle Villas!!! I want to first say that this place is not in the upper part of Costa Rica near LaFortuna where all the tourists go (I did not want that for the first half of our vacation). This is located in Uvita which is 3 hours south of San Jose Airport but worth every mile. (We used Arenal Rides to drive us from San Jose Airport to Uvita and they were fantastic) Upon arrival, you drive up a LONG gravel hill to a remote resort that only has 12 ALL GLASS villas (3 sides) that are all spread out on the property. You choose jungle view or ocean view. We chose ocean view which even though the ocean is rather far out, you see it. OH MY, our morning views and sounds were incredible. These villas are so so so beautiful and romantic! And even though there is only one place for dinner, the food and staff is beyond amazing! So utterly friendly and charming. Free breakfast that I am still dreaming about. And the Infinity Pool is an oasis and so quiet! I simply can not recommend this place enough and impress upon anyone that if you want to experience the feel of Costa Rica and something so unique in your lifetime, please go!!!!

Amazing!!! Must go if you are in the southern zone of Costa Rica!!! I truly can’t give enough good feedback about this place. The people were the kindest & there were the most beautiful premises. Walked each AM to the waterfall. Food was delicious.

Perfect stay. Staff from front desk, house keep, servers all fantastic. Room was beautiful. All glass with view everywhere. We could see so many diff birds just sitting on the patio. Restaurant had great food and drinks as well. Could not ask for a better place to stay in Uvita.

Really enjoyed our stay here. The staff was friendly and helpful— Aron at the front desk took great care of us, as well as Marco, Omar, Hazel, and Valerie in the restaurant. The rooms were unique and so well done with great beds and sheets, plenty of room and a little garden to sit in in front—saw so many birds. Housekeeping also was on top of it—we felt pretty special there. We got a couples massage at the spa (Rosie and Lady were terrific) and listening to the falls nearby in the middle of the jungle was pretty great. Food and drinks were very good as well—the pool is gorgeous! Relaxation in nature— doesn’t get better than that. The hotel seems very well run and we really enjoyed our stay!
